- The “attack on democracy” in the USA: an analysis of the front page presentation of 21 newspapers in seven countriesPublication . Weber, PatriciaThis article analyzes how the January 6, 2021, invasion of the U.S. Capitol was presented on the front pages of newspapers in seven countries. The demonstration, held by President Trump’s supporters, aimed to prevent the proclamation Joe Biden’s victory, elected in November 2020. To understand how the event was reported by 21 newspapers, a hybrid methodology of quantitative and qualitative content analysis, which is considered a trend in communication research (FONSECA, 2005) and with methods proposed by Bardin (2002), applied by Sousa (2006) and Rosenthal (2014), is used. We analyze: space dedicated to the event, textual and visual elements. The newsworthiness of the fact is verified through the space dedicated on the front pages, the formatting of headlines with prominent letters, the use of photos that endorse the titles based on political speeches, and the unprecedented nature of the action, which reveals the fragility of democracy in the country.

- Concrete Poetry in Portugal: experimentalism and intermedialityPublication . Torres, RuiConcrete poetry does not constitute an organized movement in Portugal. Instead, one must consider a range of contemporary Portuguese poetic experimentations achieved by several poets which come close, at a given point in time, to the aesthetics of concretism. This distinctive feature of the Portuguese context is outlined in this article in a comparative perspective, situating the poetics and politics of experimentalism within the international context of concrete poetry, but stressing specific aspects of the critical, historical and political Portuguese context. At the same time, the concrete tendency of experimental poetry points to the importance of literary and communication theories, as semiotics, information theory, and others provide background to understanding individual poems and manifestoes of the poets mentioned within. Finally, the article takes into consideration the fact that concrete poetry fits in larger poetic discourses, ultimately forcing the importance of poetic discourse and literary practices for a better understanding of our surrounding world and culture.

Torres, RuiO objectivo deste trabalho, provisoriamente intitulado "Cantiga", é lançaras bases de um projecto que possa apresentar, comparar e agenciar, por via da intertexualidade e da participação, um diálogo entre cantigas medievais (a poesia do trovadorismo) e algumas releituras que delas foram feitas por poetas portugueses contemporâneos (no âmbito do experimentalismo literário português, neste caso, um poema de Salette Tavares).Trata-se portanto de um protótipo, mais do que um trabalho finalizado. Como em outros trabalhos de investigação criativa que tenho feito, pretendo aqui fazer uso das potencialidades do computador como máquina criativa, como gestor e manipulador de símbolos numéricos.
