- Artificial intelligence as unfinished work: challenges and misconceptions in contemporary educationPublication . Borges Gouveia, Luis; Esil University. Astana. Kazakhstan.This presentation offers a critical analysis of the integration of Artificial Intelligence within the educational ecosystem, starting from the premise that true Artificial Intelligence does not yet exist. What we currently use are powerful statistical systems, although fluent and fast, they that lack human understanding, causal reasoning, and the ability to verify truth. The discussion focuses on the intellectual danger of substituting verification with speed and reasoning with trust, which leads a society to stop questioning. Instead of genuine education, we are witnessing the emergence of dependency training, where students are taught to use tools to generate ideas or summaries, rather than learning how to refute, reason, or ask why. The narrative that AI is a finished product is a curiosity-killer; in reality, we are only at the beginning of a process filled with unsolved problems regarding bias and explainability. Therefore, it is argued that every AI output should be treated as a hypothesis rather than a definitive answer, and every model as a study case instead of an oracle. The ultimate goal is to ensure that learners do not become passive users of alien intelligence, but remain curious minds engaged in the sovereign act of discovery.
- A brief discussion on current issues in AI roboticsPublication . Borges Gouveia, Luis; *TRS - TecnologiasModern AI robotics faces many technical, ethical, and legal problems. Solving these is key to putting autonomous systems into society well. One main engineering problem is making robots dexterous. This needs complex, real-time control of their moving parts and lots of different sensors to copy how humans feel and move in unknown places. As these systems become more independent, questions about who is responsible come up. This is especially true when machines work with little human checking and their choices can affect human safety. Also, current laws often can't keep up with new technology, leaving big gaps in rules about data privacy, unfair algorithms, and how losing jobs to machines impacts society and the economy. This paper argues that, to deal with these problems, we need further research that combines new technology with good ethical rules and smart policy actions in order to make sure robots are used safely and fairly in the future.

Borges Gouveia, LuisA transição para um quadro de Sociedade da Informação madura é pautada por uma digitalização contínua que reconfigura as práticas humanas e os modos de interação. O surgimento da Inteligência Artificial Generativa (IAG) potencia esta mutação, transformando os computadores em instrumentos universais de síntese informacional de grande escala. Contudo, a proliferação descontrolada de dados sintéticos gera riscos acrescidos para a segurança da informação, para ética e, desde logo, fiabilidade. Adotando uma perspetiva sistémica e infocomunicacional, é proposta a discussão dos impactos da IAG na atividade humana e é defendido que o conceito de Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) e a governação digital continuada são imperativos metodológicos e de cidadania indispensáveis para a validação de conteúdos e sustentabilidade do ecossistema informacional.
