dc.description.abstract	As intervenções em edifícios antigos têm vindo a crescer no sector da construção civil em Portugal, na sequência da maior preocupação da salvaguarda do património histórico e cultural edificado. O presente trabalho centra-se no tema da reabilitação urbana em Portugal, focando nas ferramentas empregues, principais interesses e preocupações inerentes, com aplicação mais direta nas intervenções realizadas em edifícios antigos da zona do centro histórico da cidade do Porto. Para uma melhor compreensão da edificação antiga é apresentada e caracterizada a casa típica do Porto (casa tipo burguesa) em termos de funcionalidade e sistema construtivo. São igualmente abordadas as metodologias recomendadas na inspeção, diagnostico e reforço de estruturas que visam a perceção das patologias existentes, bem como a definição das técnicas de intervenção mais adequadas. Por último, são apresentados dois casos de estudo localizados no centro histórico do Porto, focando na descrição arquitetónica e estrutural e na apresentação da solução de intervenção preconizada.	pt_PT
dc.description.abstract	The interventions in ancient buildings has coming to grow in the sector of the civil construction in Portugal, in the sequence of the biggest concern of the safeguard of the historical patrimony and cultural buildings. The present work focuses on the theme urban rehabilitation in Portugal, focusing on the used tools, main interests and inherent concerns, with more direct application in interventions of old buildings in the area of the historic center of Oporto city. For a better understanding of ancient building is presented and characterized the typical Oporto house (house bourgeois type) in terms of functionality and constructive system. Are equally dealt the methodologies recommended in the inspection, diagnostic and fortification of structures which aims the perception of existing pathologies as well the definition of the most appropriate intervention techniques. Finally, are presented two case studies in the historic center of Oporto, focusing on architectural and structural description and the presentation of the recommended intervention solution.	pt_PT
