| dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: Verificar os efeitos imediatos do alongamento da cadeia muscular anterior (CMA) e posterior (CMP) na flexibilidade global, amplitude de movimento de abertura da boca (AMAB) e se interferem no alívio da dor sentida nos Triggers points (TP’s) do músculo masséter, tentando identificar qual o alongamento ideal para melhorar esta problemática. Métodos: 34 universitários, com disfunção têmporomandibular, foram aleatoriamente divididos em dois grupos: Grupo da CMA (GCMA) e Grupo da CMP (GCMP), onde assumiram a postura durante 30 minutos. Antes e após da intervenção avaliou-se a flexibilidade global, a dor manifestada pelos TP’s à palpação, usando-se a Escala Visual Numérica (EVN), do limiar de dor, utilizando-se uma dinamómetro e, por fim, a AMAB, utilizando-se paquímetro. Resultados: Ambos melhoraram a AMAB, no entanto na flexibilidade já não se verificou essa melhoria significativa. No GCMA só 2 TP’s não melhoraram enquanto que no GCMP foram 6 TP’s. No entanto, entre grupos foi o GCMP que se destacou em 2 TP’s de forma significativa em relação ao GCMA. Conclusão: Apesar do GCMP ter tido 2 TP’s, com melhores resultados relativamente ao GCMA, este foi o que apresentou mais valores significativos na dor após a sua intervenção. Objective: To investigate the immediate effects the stretching of anterior (AMC) and posterior (PMC) muscular chains on the global flexibility, opening range motion of the mouth (ROMM) and in the relief of the pain felt in Triggers Points (TP's) of the masseter muscle, and identify the ideal stretch to improve this problem. Methods: 34 college students, with temporomandibular dysfunction, were randomly assigned into two groups: Group of AMC (GAMC) (n=17) and Group of PMC (GPMC) (n=17), who maintained the stretching during 30 minutes. Before and after the stretching we evaluated the overall flexibility, pain expressed by TP’s, using the Visual Numerical Scale, pain threshold using a dynamometer and ROMM, using a caliper rule. Results: Both improved ROMM, however the flexibility had not significant improvement. GAMC had only 2 TP's that had not improved while in GPMC were 6 TP’s. However, between groups was GCMP that stood out in 2 TP’s over the GAMC. Conclusion: Despite having had 2 GPMC TP’s with better results than GAMC, this stretching had more significant result in pain after the approach. | por |
