Abstract(s)
Objective: This study aims to assess the adherence to the dental movement acceleration device in conjunction with orthodontic treatment using aligners, and to investigate whether reducing the overall treatment time would increase patient acceptance. Materials and Methods: A pilot study was conducted with 26 patients undergoing orthodontic treatment with aligners, using a questionnaire to capture patient intentions. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel®. Results: The analysis showed positive acceptance of the acceleration device, with most patients valuing the reduction in treatment time. However, concerns arose regarding the comfort and practicality of the devices. A significant correlation was observed between the expectation of reduced treatment time and device acceptance. Conclusions: The study indicates that adherence to dental movement accelerators is strongly influenced by the reduction in treatment time, despite additional costs. Acceptance was generally positive. These results are important for the future development of orthodontic treatments, highlighting the need to balance efficacy and comfort.
