The general objective of this investigation was to analyze sleep habits in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and whether they influence their school performance and which aspects are most affected.Methodology: An online survey was applied to 15 special education teachers who taught children with ASD and 15 families with children with ASD, having collected data on the school performance of the child with ASD and applied the Sleep Disorders Scale in Children (Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children) validated for the Brazilian pediatric population. Results: It was possible to verify that the majority of families did not identify complex situations regarding the sleep habits of children with ASD. Most of them had a night's sleep that ranged between 9-11 hours and 5-7 hours/night. Results obtained through surveys of the teachers of these children indicated that there was interference from sleep in the students' learning process. Conclusions: Sleep is a factor that promotes school performance, if it is adequate and / or of good quality, or inhibitor of learning and consequently of school success, if it is insufficient and / or of poor quality.
