| dc.description.abstract | Orientado para a Arquitetura Sagrada, o presente trabalho de investigação começa por apresentar uma síntese crítica sobre a importância dessa temática na Igreja e na sociedade dos últimos cinquenta anos. Por essa razão daremos um especial destaque ao Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965), importante marco temporal que surge como loigação entre a Arquitetura Sagrada clássica e contemporânea. Daremos nota de diversas alterações ocorridas durante este período, na sociedade, no pensamento religioso, na prática litúrgica e no campo da Arquitetura. Por conseguinte, e por forma a sustentar a síntese final, na qual se indaga acerca da continuidade clássica na era contemporânea, e da importância do Concílio Vaticano II como originador das alterações na prática e no entendimento religioso, será dado especial ênfase a um exemplar da arquitetura religiosa portuguesa contemporânea, a Igreja de Santa Maria em Marco de Canaveses, da autoria do arquiteto Álvaro Siza Vieira. Contextualizaremos a obra através da abordagem dos desígnios arquitetónicos, culturais e sociais inerentes e, cumulativamente, em torno do seu vínculo com a Arquitetura Sagrada do passado. Neste seguimento, concluiremos que a mesma, sendo uma obra de grande maturidade arquitetónica, constitui-se, não apenas como uma delicada combinação entre passado e presente, como ainda pode ser considerada uma respeitosa equação entre as necessidades dos utentes e as exigências canónicas e eclesiásticas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Oriented for Sacred Architecture, this research work starts with a critical overview of the importance of this theme in the Church and in society over the last fifty years. For this reason we will give special emphasis to the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), an important timeframe that arises as a hinge between the classical and contemporary Sacred Architecture. We will notice several changes during this period, in society, in religious thinking, in the liturgical practice and in the architecture field. Therefore, and in order to sustain the final synthesis, in which it inquires about the classical continuity in the contemporary era, and the importance of the Second Vatican Council as the originator of changes in practice and religious understanding, it will be given special emphasis to a exemplar of Portuguese contemporary religious architecture, the Church of Santa Maria in Marco de Canaveses, designed by the architect Alvaro Siza Vieira. We'll contextualize the work by approaching the architectural designs, cultural and social inherent and cumulatively around its relationship with the Sacred architecture. In this sequence, we will conclude that, being a work of great architectural maturity, it constitutes not only a delicate combination between past and present, as it can still be considered a respectful equation between the needs of users and the canonical and ecclesiastical requirements. | pt_PT |
