- América Latina e Portugal: imigração com integração política?Publication . Leite, Isabel CostaAs últimas décadas têm apresentado índices crescentes de imigração proveniente da América Latina em direcção à Europa. Após os anos 80, Portugal passa a receber nacionais brasileiros, pela proximidade cultural e linguística, assim como cidadãos de origem hispânica, nomeadamente, argentinos, chilenos, peruanos, uruguaios e venezuelanos. As relações políticas entre os respectivos países de origem e Portugal permitiram a atribuição de direitos de participação política aos cidadãos latino-americanos, em diferentes níveis de decisão, o que lhes concede a oportunidade de uma maior integração política no Estado de residência. Last decades have presented growing taxes of immigration coming from Latin America towards Europe. After the 80’s, Portugal became the destination of Brazilian citizens, for reasons of cultural and languages affinities, and citizens of Hispanic origin, such as Argentines, Chileans, Peruvians, Uruguayans and Venezuelans. The political relations between the respective countries and Portugal allowed the attribution of political participation rights to the Latin American citizens, at different decision levels, that give them the opportunity of a wider political integration in the state of residence.
- El retorno de la diáspora artística latinoamericana/La acción diferida del desplazamientoPublication . Marín Hernández, ElizabethTendemos ha hablar del término diáspora como el lugar del desprendimiento, del desplazamiento hacia otros territorios de existencia, sin embargo la realización de ello indica la contaminación y generación de nuevos lenguajes, que en el arte latinoamericano manifiestan un continuo retorno. Un ir y venir que puede ser inscrito por medio de la acción diferida establecida en el momento en el cual el hecho diaspórico es registrado por otro capacitado de recodificarlo al historizar la realidad fundante del desplazamiento artístico como perturbación del orden simbólico y a su vez enunciar la relectura de las diásporas artísticas latinoamericanas, desde las vanguardias hasta la contemporaneidad como medio de reinscripción del movimiento en cuanto a espacio primordial de sus representaciones. La premisa central de este estudio es la de visualizar cómo el desplazamiento de distintas diásporas artísticas latinoamericanas han trasformado el lenguaje del arte de nuestro territorio, dentro del permanente ir y venir de una acción diferida que las hace eficaces a través de nuestro posicionamiento al releer el presente de nuestras diásporas y cómo los actos del desplazamiento sólo pueden aparecer en la historización de su continuo retorno. There is a tendency to treat the term diaspora as the place of detachment, of the displacement toward other territories of existence; however, its fulfilment implies the contamination and the generation of other languages which in Latin American Art involves a continuous return. A Come and Go inscribed by means of the deferred action, established in the moment in which the diasporic fact is registered by another one capable of recoding through history-making in the funding reality of the artistic displacement as a disturbance of the symbolic order and simultaneously enunciating the re-reading of the Latin American artistic diaporas, from the vanguards to contemporaneity as the means of re-inscription of the movement as the primary space of its representations. The central premise of this study is that of visualising how the displacement of different Latin American artistic disporas have transformed the art language of our territories, within the permanent Come and Go of a deferred action that works efficiently through our positioning in re-reading the present of our diasporas and how the displacement acts only can appear in the history-making of its continuous return.
- Envejecimiento europeo, migración latinoamericana y remesas: el caso de EspañaPublication . Lilón, DomingoEn el siguiente ensayo se analiza la emigración latinoamericana a Europa, especialmente hacia España, la cual está motivada por varias causas históricas, culturales y lingüísticas, pero también por factores de política internacional (política migratoria norteamericana tras el 11 de septiembre de 2001), así como por las diferentes crisis políticas y económicas latinoamericanas (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, etc.). Estas son algunas de las causas de los países emisores, pero también hay factores de los países receptores, tales como el envejecimiento general de Europa y su bajo crecimiento demográfico, que requiere puestos de trabajo, necesarios para mantener el Estado de bienestar europeo y en el cual la emigración puede jugar un gran papel. Al mismo tiempo, se analiza el efecto positivo que tiene la inmigración, principalmente en su aspecto económico (como generador de riqueza para el país receptor) y la ayuda que los inmigrantes llevan a cabo mediante el envío de remesas. Tema este último al que las autoridades bancarias y financieras nacionales están prestando mucha atención. La idea central del ensayo es que los gobiernos nacionales, presentando informes objetivos sobre la viabilidad y la necesidad de la inmigración pueden favorecer mucho al cambio de opinión sobre el inmigrante. In this article we analyse Latin American emigration to Europe, especially to Spain, which is motivated by several – historical, cultural and linguistic – reasons, as well as by international politics (migration policy of the USA after the 11 of September of 2001) and also by political and economic crisis of Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, etc.). These are some of the reasons arisen in the countries of origin, but there are factors in the countries which receive immigrants, such as the general aging and the low birthrates of Europe’s population, which requires work places to maintain the European welfare state, in which immigration can play an important role. We also analyse the positive effects of immigration, especially that of its economic aspects (generating wealth for the country which receives immigrants) and the help that immigrants represent by sending remittances to their home countries. National banking and financial authorities pay much attention to this question. The central issue of this article is that national governments preparing objective reports about the viability and the need of immigration can contribute greatly to the change in the opinion about immigrants.
- La diáspora femenina latinoamericana: entre Europa y Estados UnidosPublication . Marroni, María da GloriaLa feminización de la migración –uno de los fenómenos más significativos en términos de la dinámica demográfica actuales- tiene en América Latina una de sus mayores expresiones. Hasta la década de los ochenta del siglo pasado, los Estados Unidos era el destino mayoritario de estos flujos, para mujeres mexicanas, centroamericanas y, en menor medida, las sudamericanas. A partir de entonces se incrementan las corrientes migratorias a los países europeos, sobre todo España. En una primera línea, el documento busca recorrer los elementos que caracterizan la nueva diáspora latinoamericana, así como los factores que la hacen posible y el protagonismo de las mujeres en ellas. En un segundo eje, el documento se enfoca a una aproximación al tema de comportamiento de lo países receptores de esta mano de obra; establece una hipótesis en torno a la existencia de una relación triangulada entre Europa-Estados Unidos–América Latina que contribuiría explicar el volumen y la conformación de nuevos patrones migratorios femeninos en el mundo globalizado. The feminization of migration, one of the most significant events regarding the current demographical situation, is widely spread in Latin America. Until the 1980’s of last century, the United States were the main destination for Mexican, Centro American and, to a lesser extent, South American women. Ever since, migration to European countries has increased, mainly to Spain. In first place, this paper aims to present the characteristics of the new Latin American diasporas, as well as the factors that allow it to happen and the role women play. Secondly, the essay approaches to the politics of receiving countries towards migrants, and seeks to suggest that there is a triangular relation among Europe, United States and Latin America, which would help to explain the size and the new migratory female patterns in a globalize world.
- Las nuevas diásporas latinoamericanas en el síndrome de Ulises de Santiago GamboaPublication . Toscano, Ana María da CostaEl presente artículo analiza, desde un punto de vista literario, la importancia de la inmigración latinoamericana actual, a través de la novela El síndrome de Ulises del escritor colombiano Santiago Gamboa. Presentamos a la ciudad de París como punto clave en la relación de todos los personajes. La importancia de la nueva enfermedad de la nostalgia que tanto afecta a los emigrantes en la actualidad es el punto de partida. This paper analyse, in a literary perspective, the importance of Latin- American immigration, through the novel El syndrome de Ulysses by the Colombian writer Santiago Gamboa. The city of Paris will be presented as the crucial element in the characters’ relationship. The importance of this new disease that affects emigrants so much will be the point of departure.
