Abstract(s)

En el siguiente ensayo se analiza la emigración latinoamericana a Europa, especialmente hacia España, la cual está motivada por varias causas históricas, culturales y lingüísticas, pero también por factores de política internacional (política migratoria norteamericana tras el 11 de septiembre de 2001), así como por las diferentes crisis políticas y económicas latinoamericanas (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, etc.). Estas son algunas de las causas de los países emisores, pero también hay factores de los países receptores, tales como el envejecimiento general de Europa y su bajo crecimiento demográfico, que requiere puestos de trabajo, necesarios para mantener el Estado de bienestar europeo y en el cual la emigración puede jugar un gran papel. Al mismo tiempo, se analiza el efecto positivo que tiene la inmigración, principalmente en su aspecto económico (como generador de riqueza para el país receptor) y la ayuda que los inmigrantes llevan a cabo mediante el envío de remesas. Tema este último al que las autoridades bancarias y financieras nacionales están prestando mucha atención. La idea central del ensayo es que los gobiernos nacionales, presentando informes objetivos sobre la viabilidad y la necesidad de la inmigración pueden favorecer mucho al cambio de opinión sobre el inmigrante. In this article we analyse Latin American emigration to Europe, especially to Spain, which is motivated by several – historical, cultural and linguistic – reasons, as well as by international politics (migration policy of the USA after the 11 of September of 2001) and also by political and economic crisis of Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, etc.). These are some of the reasons arisen in the countries of origin, but there are factors in the countries which receive immigrants, such as the general aging and the low birthrates of Europe’s population, which requires work places to maintain the European welfare state, in which immigration can play an important role. We also analyse the positive effects of immigration, especially that of its economic aspects (generating wealth for the country which receives immigrants) and the help that immigrants represent by sending remittances to their home countries. National banking and financial authorities pay much attention to this question. The central issue of this article is that national governments preparing objective reports about the viability and the need of immigration can contribute greatly to the change in the opinion about immigrants.
