Abstract(s)
O presente estudo aborda a temática da não existência de um Programa de
Intervenção Precoce na Ilha de Santa Maria.
Definiram-se como objetivos gerais deste trabalho caraterizar as famílias das
crianças com NEE e/ou situação de risco da ilha de Santa Maria; compreender se existe
pertinência para a existência de um programa de Intervenção Precoce na Ilha de Santa
Maria.
Para tal realizou-se um estudo de cariz exploratório, com metodologia
qualitativa e quantitativa.
Foram utilizados como instrumentos de recolha de dados, o Inventário das
Necessidades da Família e Ficha de Anamnese aplicados a vinte e cinco famílias de
risco e com filhos com necessidades educativas especiais da ilha. Foi ainda realizada,
uma entrevista a cada coordenador dos três Ministérios (Educação, Ação Social e
Saúde), num total de três.
Com esta investigação conclui-se que conclui-se que provavelmente 71 crianças
poderiam vir a beneficiar de um programa de Intervenção Precoce. Das 25 famílias
estudadas, todas elas poderiam beneficiar desse programa.
Verificou-se que sentem maiores necessidades ao nível de informação e também
financeiro, bem como outras relacionadas com questões de habitação e de alguns
serviços, como pediatria e outros especialistas. Algumas destas necessidades poderiam
ser suprimidas com a existência de um programa de Intervenção Precoce.
Por sua vez, os três coordenadores entrevistados dos ministérios da Saúde, Ação
Social e Educação consideram bastante importante a implementação de um programa de
Intervenção Precoce na ilha de Santa Maria. Estes comandam que as necessidades financeiras, de informação e dos serviços médicos das famílias são das maiores
necessidades das famílias.
This study addresses the issue of non-existence of an EI program on the island of Santa Maria. Were defined as general objectives of this study characterize families of children with SEN and / or risk of the island of Santa Maria; understand if the coordinators of the three ministries, the island Santa Maria feel the need to create an early intervention program on the island; demonstrate the need for such a program existed. To this end we performed a descriptive study, used a qualitative and quantitative methodology. Inventory Needs of Family and Sheet Anamnese applied to twenty-five at-risk families with children with special educational needs of the island were used as instruments of data collection. It was further held, an interview with each of the three coordinating ministries (Education, Health and Social Action), a total of three. With this research it is concluded that it is concluded that probably 71 children could potentially benefit from an Early Intervention program. Of the 25 families studied, all of them could benefit from this program. Who feel the greatest need to the level of financial information and also was found, as well as other issues related to housing and some services, such as pediatrics and other specialists. Some of these needs could be removed by the existence of an EI program. In turn, the three coordinators interviewed the Ministries of Health, Social Action and Education consider quite important to implement a program of early intervention on the island of Santa Maria. They control the financial needs of medical information and services for households are the greatest needs of families.
