Abstract(s)
Os conceitos de Geometria e Estrutura Espacial estão interligados, de forma intrínseca, com o exercício da Arquitetura. O estudo do espaço, como fundamento e premissa desta prática, tem inequivocamente presente uma conceção geométrica, podendo esta ser mais ou menos marcada.
A presente Dissertação pretende abordar estes dois temas, o da Geometria e o da Estrutura Espacial, numa análise focada a Obras da Arquiteta Manuela Braga.
Inicialmente, pretende-se introduzir o percurso arquitetónico da Arquiteta Manuela Braga, a inserção das suas Obras na cultura arquitetónica Portuguesa e Açoreana, salientando a importância da Geometria no seu processo criativo.
De seguida, será abordada alguma literatura premente para o estudo da Geometria como elemento ordenador da forma arquitetónica, oferecendo uma base teórica para os elementos analisados.
Por fim, serão estudados casos concretos de produção arquitetónica, as Obras da Arquiteta Manuela Braga selecionadas para este trabalho académico.
Concluindo, procura-se demonstrar a importância da Geometria e da Estrutura Espacial no Projeto de Arquitetura, evidenciando estes aspetos nos casos de estudo apresentados.
The concepts of Geometry and Spatial Structure are strongly connected with the practice of Architecture. The study of space, as background and foundation of this practice, has, undoubtedly, present a geometrical conception, this being more or less emphasized. This Dissertation intends to address these two topics, the Geometry and the Spatial Structure, in an analysis focused on Works of Architect Manuela Braga. Initially, the aim is to introduce the architectural career of Architect Manuela Braga, the insertion of her Work in the Portuguese and Azorean architectural culture, highlighting the importance of Geometry in her creative process. Next, some pressing literature for the study of Geometry as an organizing element of architectural form will be addressed, offering a theoretical basis for the analyzed elements. Finally, specific cases of architectural production will be studied, the Works of Architect Manuela Braga selected for this academic work. In conclusion, we seek to demonstrate the importance of Geometry and Spatial Structure in Architecture, focusing on these aspects in the case studies presented.
