Atitudes das forças policiais face à violência doméstica e implicações na sua atuação

A violência doméstica é um dos crimes com maior incidência no Brasil e que exige atenção especial dos policiais que prestam atendimento, desde o atendimento inicial às partes envolvidas na fase não judicial, até a fase judicial e sua sentença final. Neste sentido, o presente estudo tem como principal objetivo analisar as atitudes dos policiais civis relativamente ao fenómeno da violência doméstica e familiar e avaliar de que forma podem estar relacionadas com o seu modo de atuação. Para tanto foi administrado um inquérito junto de 142 participantes (com média de idades de 39.7 anos e D.P. = 7.96), todos policiais civis. Os resultados revelaram não haver diferenças de sexo estatisticamente significativas quando da atuação dos policiais, sobretudo quando estão perante situações de violência doméstica e familiar e apontam para a diminuição das crenças sobre o fenómeno da violência doméstica. Assim, permitiu-se apurar que os policiais tendem a não legitimar algumas das ideias que giram em torno da violência doméstica e familiar, não obstante a presença de crenças subjetivas e sociais.
