Abstract(s)
Parental Alienation (AP) and Parental Alienation Syndrome (SAP) has been a relevant research topic in the forensic context, and it is essential that psychologists, who work in the context of interparental conflict, be specialized and trained to certify or refute these phenomena. After a theoretical review on the theme, we present a qualitative study that aimed at baseline, investigating the way in which the legal psychologist acts, as a protective or revictimizing agent, in the jurists' perception. For this, a sample of 71 Law operators was constituted, among these magistrates, prosecutors, public defenders and lawyers from the state of Mato Grosso, who have already worked in the AP process. Through a qualitative approach, a semi-structured and semidirectional questionnaire was applied, applied through the internet, on the Docs.Google platform, and subsequently performed content analysis. The data were organized in several categories and sedimented in tables with quantitative data referring to the specification of each operator involved. The results showed that the perception of the operators was positive in general, concerning the performance of the forensic psychologist. The study allowed us to reflect on the theme and suggestions for improvements and more effective interventions in the PA processes.
