Abstract(s)
The prognosis of endodontic treatment is strongly related to the effective filling and sealing of the root canal system after chemical-mechanical preparation. This stage is a challenge in clinical practice, as it aims to avoid the creation of areas conducive to infiltrations and the development of microorganisms. The quality of the filling is influenced by the anatomical complexity of the root canal system, characterized by the presence of curvatures and irregularities, branches, isthmus and lateral canals. There are many filling techniques but in this study we focused on heated condensation techniques, namely the hybrid Tagger technique, which should promote a greater three-dimensional filling of the main and accessory channels and especially in curved channels. Thus, the objective of this dissertation is to validate the effectiveness of the Tagger's Hybrid filling technique when compared to other filling techniques. To this end, a literature search was carried out in the MEDLINE/PubMed, ScienceDirect and B-On databases, which began in June 2024 and ended in August 2024, following the PICO search strategy. At the end of this selection process, 16 articles were found that were included in this integrative review. After analyzing them, it is verified that the hybrid Tagger filling technique is a viable option in the treatment of root canals because it presents results somewhat similar to the other techniques that are available. However, for lateral and oval canals it is not as effective as the other techniques. It should also be noted that none of the existing techniques can achieve perfect filling, free of spaces and with the total filling of the root canal system.
