Abstract(s)
Assim, a
This dissertation is a reflection on the good intervention practices in the rehabilitation of old buildings through the analysis of the rehabilitation of two concrete case studies. Thus it is conducted an analysis of the thematic, methodology and objectives. The concepts that are covered are thought to be the most important in relation to the issues of urban renewal and historical town, and focus the criteria and guiding concepts of interventions. These two case studies are critical to understand in a practical way what this work describes, such as the comparative analysis between them, allowing you to take some considerations and relevant conclusions. There has been, in recent years, an increased interest from national and international entities in order to recover the techniques and materials used in old buildings, as well as knowing the scope of their application. This attitude resulted in a growing awareness of the need for protection of monuments and monumental buildings included in protection zones of other properties of recognized cultural value and heritage. In general, Portugal is not fully sensitized to the rehabilitation of buildings yet. Although we recognize the existence of valid work of rehabilitation and reconstruction of some National Monuments and other buildings of great architectural importance, much can and should be carried out in the future not only to enrich the reading of Portuguese architectural heritage, as well as to see the need and importance of rehabilitation. In engineering and in any of its areas it is necessary - being the main objective of the engineer - to solve all problems as efficiently and quickly enough as possible in order to minimize all costs involved. Thus, the rehabilitation of buildings translates into a need within the historic buildings, which stands out nowadays, giving rise to the construction of buildings from scratch.
