Abstract(s)
Um dos objetivos deste projeto de graduação, é a sua apresentação á Universidade Fernando Pessoa como parte dos requisitos para a obtenção do grau de Licenciatura em Enfermagem.
O tema escolhido foi “Qualidade de Vida em Idosos Institucionalizados”.
Para conseguir alcançar o objetivo do estudo, este desenvolveu-se durante um determinado período de tempo, em dois lares do concelho de Cabeceiras de Basto, onde houve oportunidade de realizar um questionário e consequentemente perceber quais as maiores dificuldades dos idosos.
As instituições pertencem á Santa Casa da Misericórdia, tendo capacidade para acolher 70 idosos. Neste momento a instituição tem ao seu cuidado 68, maioritariamente independentes. Disponibiliza de boas condições habitacionais, sendo que os Enfermeiros apenas possuem turnos diurnos.
A qualidade de vida do idoso é uma temática muito pertinente na sociedade, dado o aumento da esperança de vida com o consequente envelhecimento da população e os recursos que são necessários para a sua sobrevivência, o que preocupa as famílias e profissionais de saúde.
Na presente investigação realizou-se um estudo descritivo exploratório de abordagem quantitativa, visto que, se pretende descrever qual a Qualidade de Vida dos idosos institucionalizados. A amostra foi constituída por 60 idosos institucionalizados em dois lares do concelho de Cabeceiras de Basto, com histórias de vida muito distintas, o que me motivou ainda mais para a realização deste projeto.
Após a colheita de dados, estes foram analisados através do Microsoft Office Excel 2007 e organizados em gráficos e quadros.
Os resultados obtidos permitem-nos concluir que a maioria dos idosos tem a noção de que com o passar da idade, e sabendo eles que as suas famílias têm as suas atividades laborais, o seu futuro passa pela institucionalização.
Concluímos ainda que sempre que possível a instituição os ajuda no que lhes é possível, proporcionando-lhes atividade de lazer para sua própria distração e convívio social, o que leva a que a maioria dos inquiridos conclua que possui qualidade de vida.
One of the objectives of this graduation project is its presentation to the Fernando Pessoa University as part of the requirements for obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. The theme chosen was "Quality of Life in Institutionalized Elderly Persons". In order to achieve the objective of the study, it developed over a period of time, in two households in the municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto, where it was possible to carry out a questionnaire and consequently to understand the major difficulties of the elderly. The institutions belong to Santa Casa da Misericórdia, and have the capacity to accommodate 70 elderly people. At this moment the institution has to its care 68, mostly independent. It provides good housing conditions, and nurses only have day shifts. The quality of life of the elderly is a very pertinent theme in society, given the increase in life expectancy with the consequent aging of the population and the resources that are necessary for their survival, which worries families and health professionals. In the present investigation a descriptive exploratory study of quantitative approach was carried out, since it is intended to describe the quality of life of the institutionalized elderly. The sample consisted of 60 elderly people institutionalized in two homes in the county of Cabeceiras de Basto, with very different life histories, which motivated me even more to the realization of this project. After data collection, they were analyzed through Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and organized into charts and graphs. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the majority of the elderly have the notion that as their age passes, and knowing that their families have their work activities, their future will be institutionalized. We conclude that whenever possible, the institution helps them with what they can, providing leisure activities for their own distraction and social interaction, which leads most respondents to conclude that they have a quality of life.
