| dc.description.abstract | As terapêuticas não convencionais (TNC) são um conjunto de terapêuticas que têm por base princípios diferentes da medicina convencional e dispõem das suas próprias técnicas de diagnóstico e tratamento. Atualmente são reconhecidas na legislação portuguesa sete TNC: a acupuntura, a fitoterapia, a homeopatia, a medicina tradicional chinesa (MTC), a naturopatia, a osteopatia e a quiropráxia. Com o crescente interesse da população pelas TNC e com a nova legislação em vigor em Portugal, torna-se necessário perceber o papel do farmacêutico no aconselhamento e na segurança do utente destas terapias. Este trabalho pretende realçar alguns pontos importantes desta temática, nomeadamente no que diz respeito aos princípios, aplicação e riscos das TNC, que são conhecimentos fundamentais para um bom aconselhamento dos utentes por parte do farmacêutico. Unconventional therapies are a group of therapies that follow different principles from those used in conventional medicine and have their own diagnose and treatment techniques. There are seven modalities currently contemplated in the Portuguese legislation: acupuncture, phytotherapy, homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, osteopathy and quiropractics. With the growing interest from the population in these therapies and with the new legislation existing in Portugal, it becomes necessary to understand the role of the pharmacist concerning the counseling and the security of the users of these therapies. This thesis aims to highlight some important points of this issue, particularly regarding the principles, applications and risks of unconventional therapies, which are primordial tools to the pharmacist, so he or she can advise the users. | por |
