Abstract(s)

Objective: to evaluate the efficacy of hydrotherapy in the treatment of patients with PD. Methodology: the bibliographic research was done through the following search engines: Pubmed, b-on and PEDro to find randomized controlled trials (RCT’s) that would evaluate the studied topic. Results: 6 RCT’s articles were found that respected the inclusion criteria with an average rating of 6.5 on the PEDro scale and a total of 164 participants. Conclusions: the different aquatic interventions have shown improvements on patients motor symptoms; like gait, and gait speed, improvements on balance, pain perception, decrease of postural oscillations and deformities that will generally lead to an improvement in functional independence and therefore to an increase of each individual’s quality of life.
