dc.description.abstract	O presente trabalho tem como objectivo explorar os significados subjacentes ao consumo de álcool em 10 mulheres que já foram dependentes desta substância. Baseados numa abordagem qualitativa, recorremos, à Grounded Analysis como forma de analisar e compreender o discurso de uma destas mulheres, enquanto reflexo da sua experiência numa relação de dependência com o álcool. O objectivo central da Grounded Analysis passa pela compreensão dos fenómenos estudados através da construção de teorias, que vão sendo elaboradas e reformuladas ao longo da investigação (Barrocas & Paixão, 2006; Fernandes & Maia, 2001). Esta metodologia contempla um tipo de procedimento indutivo e exploratório, não se partindo de hipóteses, mas de uma familiarização, descrição e análise do fenómeno em estudo (Fonte, 2005). Os resultados deste estudo demonstram, entre outros aspectos, que os significados subjacentes ao consumo de álcool nestas mulheres estão associados à necessidade de se sentirem bem, sensação esta não conseguida de outra forma, como companhia, para esquecer e como gerador de força. O modelo narrativo e, mais precisamente, a procura de significados, vêm demonstrar que são um bom instrumento de análise para aceder ao mundo subjectivo destas mulheres. The current Project aims at exploring the meaning underlying the consumption of alcohol in 10 women addicted to the substance. As far as methodology is concerned, the Project followed a qualitative approach, with a particular focus on a Grounded Analysis. Such a choice made it possible to scrutinise and understand the spech of the subjects/inquirers, regarded as a reflection of their addicted relationship to alcohol. The central goal of Grounded Analysis involves the understanding of the phenomena studied through the construction of theories, wich are built and reconsidered along with the research results ( Barrocas & Passion, 2006; Fernandes & Maia, 2001). By nature, the procedure selected is na inductiveand exploratory one. Therefore, its starting point is not na hypothesis but the acquaintance, description and analysis of the phenomenon under study (Fonte, 2005). The results of this study show, among other things, that meanings underlying alcohol consumption are related to the need to feel good, the avoid loneliness, to cope with problems and to strengthen personality. Otherwise, subjects are unable to achieve such states of mind. The narrative model, with a particular focus of meaning interpreting, hás revealed itself a power tool for grasping and analyzing the subjective inner world of the women inquired.	por
