A morte é um acontecimento inevitável e comum a todos os seres vivos. Tudo o que nasce mais tarde ou mais cedo irá morrer. É uma condição da vida. A morte é um tema ainda muito misterioso e incompreendido, tendo a humanidade ainda muita dificuldade em falar sobre ele.
A morte é vista como um tabu: evita-se falar sobre ela, e sobre tudo o que a rodeia. Não queremos pensar na ideia de morrer pois este mero pensamento causa-nos angustia e sofrimento. A escolha do estudo do tema “Os Enfermeiros e a vivência da morte em jovens dos 18-25 anos no Serviço de Urgência” deveu-se ao interesse da investigadora em compreender como funciona o enfermeiro perante a morte em pessoas jovens no serviço de urgência.
Este projeto inclui um estudo do tipo misto, ou seja, tem uma vertente quantitativa e outra vertente qualitativa. O estudo é realizado por questionários respondidos por um grupo de 10 enfermeiros que trabalham no serviço de urgência do CHTMAD.
Espera-se com a elaboração deste trabalho, desvendar os sentimentos dos enfermeiros perante a morte do utente dos 18-25 anos no serviço de urgência.
Death is an inevitable event common to all living things. Anything born sooner or later will die. It is a condition of life. Death is still a very mysterious and misunderstood subject, and mankind is still very difficult to talk about. Death is seen as a taboo: it avoids talking about it, and about everything that surrounds it. We do not want to think about the idea of dying because this mere thought causes us anguish and suffering. The choice of the study of the topic "Nurses and the experience of death in young people aged 18-25 years in the Emergency Department" was due to the researcher's interest in understanding how the nurse works in the face of death in young people in the emergency department. This project includes a mixed type study, that is, it has a quantitative and a qualitative aspect. The study is carried out by questionnaires answered by a group of 10 nurses working in the emergency department of the CHTMAD. It is expected to elaborate this work, to unveil the feelings of the nurses before the death of the user of the 18-25 years in the emergency service.
