Abstract(s)
The present study aims to investigate the correlations between anxiety symptoms and emotional regulation strategies in adolescents. Adolescence is a phase characterized by significant physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes, making it particularly vulnerable to mental health issues, including anxiety disorders. Emotional regulation skills are critical for mental health, with difficulties in this area increasing vulnerability to psychopathology. This quantitative study included 53 participants with ages between 11 and 15 years old, and used the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale for Children (EADS-C-21), the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ERQ-CA), and the Scale of Difficulties in Emotion Regulation (EDRE). The findings indicate a significant correlation between difficulties in emotional regulation and higher levels of anxiety among adolescents. These results underscore the importance of developing effective emotional regulation strategies to promote mental well-being and prevent anxiety disorders in adolescents.
