The objective of this study is to investigate what degree of information for teens about sexually transmitted infections, prevention methods and to assess the ability of adolescents to identify methods contraceptives that prevent STI´s. This project was based on an exploratory study, descriptive and transversal character of quantitative. Data collection took place in Oporto street, on June 30, 2012, by conducting a questionnaire. The non-probability sampling was accidental. The sample consisted of 30 adolescents between 14 and 18 years of age. After analysis of data collected, we can conclude that with respect to the theoretical knowledge about STI´s, adolescents who were targets of this investigation demonstrated a reasonable, although counter cycle when it comes to practical application, since that 23.3% of the sample, did not respond assertively when asked "what is the care that had to avoid sexually transmitted infections?", since it mostly did not indicate the use of condoms as the most effective method for its prevention.
