Abstract(s)
Introduction: Flexibility is recognized as a crucial motor quality in the sports area. One of the most used physiotherapy techniques which includes maintenance or the increase of motion amplitude and consecutively prevents a relapse or other lesions is stretching. Objective: Analyze the influence of Global Postural Reeducation on flexibility of the swimmers athletes. Methods: A sample of 19 swimmers athletes was divided into two groups (control and experimental groups). The experimental group was subjected to a stretching protocol of GPR (three postures), for four weeks, two times per week. Both groups were also submited to an initial and final assessment, where we used the flexiteste, 3rd finger-test soil and trunk extension test. Results: We were able to verify a significant improvement on the experimental group’s flexibility levels when comparing them to the control group’s moments after the evaluation (p≤0,05). Conclusion: The GPR as shown a capability to increment the movement amplitudes on the swimmers submitted to protocol.
