To reach these objectives I am based on articles and scientific works properly published, from the year of 1995. The motivation in this project is essentially to summarize, to clarify and simplify this quite known clinical relation. My great fascination for the simple things in life always took me simplifying to be able to explain the complex; sometimes this attitude can be misinterpreted, however I think that I managed to join the basic aspects of these themes including the concepts that looked to me essential for the scientific understanding of this clinical correlation. At present it is of the common knowledge that the Diabetes mellitus is an endocrinous disease that will not be controlled leads to many sistemic alterations. Besides increasing the infections and to favor the appearance of periodontal disease, these alterations cause problems in the blood vessels, in the kidneys, in the sensory system and in the vision. The periodontal disease, on his side, is considered one of the complications of the diabetes. The studies say that the diabetes influences not only the appearance but also the progression of the periodontal disease. Nevertheless the severity of this disease can affect equally the metabolic control of the diabetes.
