Abstract(s)
Background: work-related musculoskeletal injuries (LMELT) come from several professional risk factors such as repetition of tasks, overloaded and inadequate postures during work, and individual and organizational/psychosocial risk factors. Objectives: to analyze the existence and the risk factors of LMELT in employees of the textile industry. Methodology: the evaluation of symptoms, movements, and self-reported positions by factory workers was performed using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (QNM) and the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). Results: the sample consisted of 28 female employees, with a mean age of 44.18 ± 1.09 years. The age of the beginning of the labor activity varied between 13 years and 40 years. After the analysis of the QNM, it was verified that the regions with the greatest painful symptomatology were the wrists/hands, lumbar region, and shoulder. The risk of LMELT occurrence is significantly associated with cervical, thoracic, and lower limb postures, repetitive and static posture in the lower limbs, and age at onset of professional activity. Conclusion: the women workers in the textile industry are in jobs that should be investigated and changed quickly.
