| dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: Investigar o papel e os efeitos benéficos das proteínas derivadas da matriz do esmalte na regeneração e saúde periodontal. Materiais e métodos: Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados PubMed e SciELO utilizando palavras-chave como “EMD” AND “intrabony defect” AND “periodontal regeneration”, seguindo os critérios de inclusão e exclusão estabelecidos anteriormente. Resultados: De acordo com a busca realizada, foram encontrados um total de 349 artigos, mas destes apenas 45 foram avaliados conforme o texto completo e, em seguida, foi feita uma seleção final de 10 artigos. Conclusão: A maioria dos estudos relatou dados positivos sobre a utilização de proteínas derivadas da matriz do esmalte em pacientes com doença periodontal, demonstrando ganhos significativos em termos de profundidade de sondagem e nível de inserção clínica. | pt_PT |

Materials and methods: A literature search was carried out in the PubMed and SciELO databases using keywords such as “EMD” AND “intrabony defect” AND “periodontal regeneration”, following the inclusion and exclusion criteria previously established. Results: According to the search carried out, a total of 349 articles were found, but of these, only 45 were evaluated according to the full text, and then a final selection of 10 articles was made. Conclusion: Most studies reported positive data on the application of enamel matrix proteins in patients with periodontal disease, demonstrating significant gains in terms of probing depth and clinical attachment level. | pt_PT |
