Abstract(s)
Metodologia: A amostra utilizada
Objective: To analyze if the posture acquired in the different types of musical blow instruments, influences the pain and the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries, as well as the occurrence of temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMD) in musicians. Methodology: The sample used in this study consisted of 31 elements of the Leverense Musical Band and 30 elements of the Melres Musical Band (n = 61). All the inquired people completed an individual questionnaire on personal aspects, the “Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire” and the "Diagnostic Criteria for the Research of Temporomandibular Disorders - RDC / TMD" questionnaire. Each individual were also recorded playing with its instrument through the Kinovea software. Results: It was found that, in global, musicians presented greater complains of pain in the follow regions: cervical, lumbar, shoulders and wrist/hands. Relating to the posture only in some musicians there was significant difference. Concerning to the presence of TMD symptoms, the chronic pain was highlighted by Oboe, Flute and Trombone musicians, as well as the presence of clicks and noises/tinnitus, in relation to other reported symptoms. Conclusion: We conclude that the population of musicians of blow instruments tend to have musculoskeletal injuries and also the occurrence of signs/symptoms of TMD, related to posture.
