A violência doméstica é considerada, nos dias de hoje, um dos maiores problemas a nível global, afectando diariamente milhares de pessoas. Como tal, o projecto desenvolvido incidirá na proposta de um estudo que atribui especial interesse à caracterização das mulheres enquanto agressoras nesta tipologia de crime, uma vez que estes são escassos ou mesmo inexistentes. O estudo tem como finalidade obter uma caracterização das agressoras, traçando-se um perfil das mesmas e verificando-se as características dos actos violentos por elas praticados, as principais vítimas, bem como, as motivações subjacentes. Procedeu-se, desta forma, à elaboração de uma revisão bibliográfica, bem como à realização de uma investigação quantitativa, para dar resposta aos objectivos inicialmente delineados. Domestic violence is considered, nowadays, one of the major global problems, affecting daily thousands of people. As such, the developed project will focus on the proposal of a study which attributes special interest to the characterisation of women as aggressors in this typology of crime, since these cases are scarce or even inexistent. The purpose of the study is to attain a detailed characterisation of the aggressors, tracing their profile and analysing the characteristics of the violent acts by them committed the main victims, as well as the subjacent motivations. It was, in this way, preceded to the execution of a bibliographic research, as well as the development of a quantitative research, in order to answer to the objectives initially delineated.
