| dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: O objetivo é compreender o papel do terapeutas da fala em Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI), na avaliação da deglutição, através de um questionário. Tipo de Estudo: estudo transversal, quantitativo. Participantes e Métodos: Os participantes deste estudo serão terapeutas da fala que exercem ou já exerceram funções em UCI responderão ao questionário online que será disponibilizado para acesso livre. Resultados: Um total de 14 participantes (N= 14) com uma idade médio de 31,5 anos e em totalidade de sexo feminino. 57,1% (N=8) dos participantes não obtiveram conhecimentos através da sua formação, no que respeita à intervenção em UCI; a amostra definem 5 objetivos principais do papel da TF em UCI : 1- realizar uma avaliação/diagnóstico de todas as áreas, 2- reeducar a deglutição em adultos e do recém-nascidos, 3- reeducar a comunicação (em doentes que sofrem de afasia ou disartria, por exemplo, ou reeducar doentes com disfonia que possam estar em pós-extubação) 4- prestar um verdadeiro apoio à família abrindo a comunicação com a família, e 5- ajudar na alta do hospital. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Objective: The aim is to understand the role of speech therapists in Intensive Care Units (ICU), in the evaluation of swallowing, through a questionnaire. Type of study: cross-sectional, quantitative study. Participants and Methods: The participants of this study will be speech therapists who perform or have performed duties in ICUs will answer the online questionnaire that will be made available for free access. Results: A total of 14 participants (N=14) with an average age of 31.5 years and all of them female. 57.1% (N=8) of the participants did not obtain knowledge through their education regarding ICU intervention; the sample defined 5 main objectives of the role of the FT in ICU: 1 - perform an assessment/diagnosis of all areas, 2 - re-educate swallowing in adults and orality in new-borns, 3 - re-educate communication (in patients suffering from aphasia or dysarthria, for example, or re-educate patients with dysphonia who may be post-extubation) 4 - provide real support to the family by opening communication with the family, and 5 - help with discharge from hospital. | pt_PT |
