| dc.description.abstract | A gravidez gera alterações hormonais que aumenta o risco de exposição a infeções orais, como a gengivite gravídica. O objetivo do trabalho é verificar como a progesterona e o estrogénio afetam o tecido gengival durante a gravidez, e em que trimestre a patologia agrava. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma pesquisa nas plataformas: PubMed® e SciencDirect®, com os descritores ”pregnancy gingivitis”, “pregnant woman and gingivitis”, “gingivitis gravidium”, “pregnancy and gum disease”. Critérios de inclusão, artigos publicados entre os anos 2006 a 2018, em espanhol, inglês e português. Artigos excluídos referentes a alterações sistémicas associadas. No total, foram pesquisados 109 artigos. Resultados: Foram estudados 31 artigos, aqueles com relevância na doença gengival hormonal nas gestantes. Conclusão: Os principais mecanismos de associação da gravidez com a gengivite é o aumento dos níveis hormonais no plasma e diminuição do controlo do biofilme e da higiene oral. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Pregnancy generates hormonal changes that increase the risk of exposure to oral infections, such as gingivitis gravidarum. The objective of the study is to verify how progesterone and estrogen affect the gingival tissue during pregnancy, and in what quarter the condition worsens. Methodology: We carried out a research on the platforms: PubMed® and SciencDirect®, with the descriptors "pregnancy gingivitis", "pregnant woman and gingivitis", "gingivitis gravidium", "pregnancy and gum disease". Inclusion criteria, articles published between the years 2006 to 2018, in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Excluded articles related to systemic changes associated. In total, 109 articles were searched. Results: Thirty - one articles were studied, with relevance to hormonal gingival disease in pregnant women. Conclusion: The main mechanisms of association between pregnancy and gingivitis are increased plasma hormone levels and decreased biofilm control and oral hygiene. | pt_PT |
