Abstract(s)
O presente estudo foi realizado com o objetivo de compreender quais as competências de vida dos jovens institucionalizados, em situação de pré-autonomia e com idades compreendidas entre os 17 e os 21 anos. A amostra foi recolhida em Lares de Infância e Juventude do Porto. Tendo em conta a escassez de estudos sobre as competências de vida de jovens institucionalizados, esta dissertação incidiu-se na vertente da autonomização e na realização de programas de autonomia de vida pelas instituições. Os objetivos do presente estudo centraram-se na análise de diferenças significativas nas competências de vida entre rapazes e raparigas, em perceber quais os medos experienciados pelos jovens em relação ao seu futuro e quais as lacunas existentes nestes programas de autonomia de vida realizados pelas instituições.
Após a aplicação da Escala de Competências de Vida (Gonçalves et al., 2016) aos participantes, realizou-se uma primeira caracterização da população relativamente às subescalas que compõem a escala. Verificou-se que, de forma geral, não existiam diferenças significativas relativamente ao género, idade, idade da primeira institucionalização, frequência escolar e situação profissional, nas subescalas referidas.
The present study was conducted with the objective of understanding the life skills of institutionalized youths, in a situation of pre-autonomy and aged between 17 and 21 years. The sample was collected in children's homes and youth in Porto. In view of the scarcity of studies on the life skills of institutionalized youths, this dissertation focused on the autonomy and the realization of programs of life independence by the institutions. The objectives of the present study were focused on the analysis of significant differences in the life skills among boys and girls, in perceiving the fears experienced by young people in relation to their future and what gaps exist in these programs of life autonomy carried out by the institutions. After the application of the Escala de Competências de Vida (Gonçalves et al., 2016) to the participants, a first characterization of the population was performed in relation to the subscales that compose the scale. It was found that, in general, there were no significant differences regarding gender, age, age of first institutionalization, school attendance and professional situation in the aforementioned subscales.
