Abstract(s)
Objective: Determine the effectiveness of eccentric exercise (EE) in the treatment of lateral elbow tendinopathy (LET), when compared with other modalities of physical therapy. Methods: It was performed a computerized literature search in online databases B-ON Pubmed / Medline for selection of studies about EE in LET. Were included randomized and non-randomized clinical trials, and made after 2001 and were excluded articles without full access, systematic reviews and reading the summary. Results: Were included in this literature review 2 randomized trials, 1 randomized controlled trial (stratified by gender), 2 non-randomized controlled trials. In the studies were involved a total of 299 individuals. Conclusion: The EE showed promising results in the rehabilitation of the LET. With more or less statistical significance, all studies had positive results, although the current literature is still limited.
