Purpose: Investigate the results of using the shock wave therapy, plantar fáscia and posterior leg muscles stretches in the treatment of symptoms in patients with Plantar Fasciitis (PF). Methods: Research on computerized databases on B-on and Pubmed to identify randomized controlled trials that address a stretching exercise program or intervention with shock wave therapy (SWT) in adults diagnosed with PF. Results: This review included 7 studies involving 335 patients, with arithmetic mean methodology classification of 5 on the PEDro scale (Physiotheray Evidence Database scoring scale). From the studies included in this review, 2 compare the SWT with physiotherapy which included stretching and ultrasound, 1 compare the SWT and treatment with SWT together with a plan of stretching, 1 compare the SWT with a placebo group, 2 only address the SWT and 1 treated patiends first with physiotherapy and those who didn’t obtained results passed to the SWT. Conclusion: The evidence found in this systematic review suggest that SWT, plantar fáscia and posterior leg muscles stretching are effective in reducing symptoms of PF separately, however, if both work together will get better results.
