Abstract(s)
Este trabalho pretende descrever a actualidade dos factores sociais que levam à iniciação de consumo de tabaco na adolescência e as suas consequências, aplicado à realidade nacional e internacional. É analisado o papel desempenhado pelos diversos intervenientes na vida dos fumadores (profissionais de saúde, família, escola, comunidade...) para travar a progressão da epidemia tabágica. A saída da infância é um momento de risco onde há maior probabilidade de iniciar hábitos tabágicos, que poderão prolongar-se por toda a vida. Junto com factores individuais, não há dúvida de que o consumo de tabaco possui características específicas que reflectem a influência de factores sociais como a escola, a família, o grupo de amigos, o ambiente e a cultura. Relativamente à forma de travar a progressão da epidemia tabágica, é essencial observar que é necessário compreender quando, onde e porquê as crianças e adolescentes se tomam fumadores, para que, perante as respostas obtidas se possam desenhar intervenções de forma a resolver o problema. Deste modo, foi atribuída importância à enfermagem sobre a prevenção dos hábitos tabágicos.
This paper aims to describe the current social factors that lead to the initiation of tobacco habits in adolescence and its consequences, applied to national and international reality. It examines the role played by the various intervenient in the life of smokers (health professionals, family, school, community ...) to halt the progression of the smoking epidemic. The end of childhood is a time of risk where there is most likely to start smoking, which may last for a lifetime. Along with individual factors, there is no doubt that tobacco use has specific characteristics that reflect the influence of social factors such as school, family, group of friends, the environment and culture. On the way to halt the progression of the smoking epidemic, it is essential to note that you must understand when, where and why children and teenagers become smokers. This is important to design interventions in order to solve the problem. Thus, importance was given to nursing on the prevention of smoking.
