Vive-se hoje no Brasil, pulsos de uma violência de Estado que coloca em risco a ordem social. Historicamente ineficiente na promoção e garantia de direitos sociais básicos, o Estado brasileiro lança-se em um processo de minimalização orientado por políticas neoliberais. Com o consequente decremento dos serviços públicos e dos investimentos sociais agravam-se os conflitos do âmbito social oriundos da condição de carência de determinados segmentos da população.
Frente a este cenário, as empresas têm percebido a importância do seu papel social e têm buscado mudar a forma de relacionar-se com a sociedade, incorporando aos seus processos ações das esferas social, política e ambiental, que ao tempo que contribuem para o desenvolvimento social e para a redução das desigualdades, colocam-se em contraponto à ineficiência gerencial do Estado.
Perspectiva em que por meio de um estudo de caso sobre a atuação da empresa Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul perante um conflito de caráter social instaurado em razão da escassez relativa de moradias, o presente trabalho pretendeu analisar o papel da responsabilidade social empresarial aplicada aos processos de resolução de conflitos sociais.
Neste sentido, a ação sócio responsável da empresa assumiu protagonismo na resolução construtiva do conflito Cidade Favela de Deus.
Através do detalhado estudo do caso posto em questão, espera-se haver contribuido para o campo das ciências empresariais, com a inovadora aborgem em simultâneo dos temas responsabilidade social empresarial e gestão de conflitos.
Brazil suffers from a State violence which puts the social order at risk. Historically inefficient to promote and guarantee basic social rights, Brazilian state starts a process of minimization driven by neoliberal policies. As consequence, to the decrease of public services and social investments, conflicts in the social sphere arise and are aggravated from the deficiency of certain segments of the population. In this scenario, companies have realized the importance of their social role, and worked to change the way they relate to society. The companies sought to incorporate social, political and environmental actions into their processes. Companies are in opposition to the State's inefficient management while contributing to social development and reducing inequalities. The present work has the objective to analyze the role of corporate social responsibility applied to the resolution processes of social conflicts. This article is based on a case study on the performance of the company Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul, which faced a social conflict due to the scarcity of housing. Furthermore, the company took the leading role in the effective resolution of the conflict favela Cidade de Deus. Through the detailed case study used in this article, it is expected to contribute to the field of business sciences. The article is conducted with an innovative approach simultaneously to corporate social responsibility and conflict management.
