Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação é o resultado de uma investigação, levada a cabo na freguesia de Moimenta do Douro, concelho de Cinfães, tendo sido referenciados dezanove moinhos de água aqui apontados como património vernáculo.
A freguesia referenciada insere-se num meio rural e possui inúmeros elementos de arquitetura vernácula, que constituem um notável património, mas que, porém, se tem vindo a perder ou descaracterizar por intervenções menos apropriadas, como se verificou em alguns dos moinhos estudados.
Desta forma, a par da inventariação de cada estrutura molinológica e análise do sistema construtivo, o objetivo deste estudo é sobretudo demonstrar a possibilidade de valorização da arquitetura popular rural presente nos moinhos daquela freguesia.
Apresenta-se a evolução do conceito de património ao longo dos tempos e faz-se uma reflexão sobre as intervenções de conservação sobre este património como forma de preservar a identidade e a cultura de uma comunidade, bem como potenciar o seu desenvolvimento.
This dissertation is the result of an investigation carried out in parish of Moimenta do Douro, municipality of Cinfães, where nineteen watermills have been listed as vernacular heritage. The mentioned parish is part of a rural environment and has countless architectural elements that form a remarkable vernacular heritage, however, this heritage have been neglected, loosing its characteristics due to inappropriate interventions, as seen in some of studied mills. By this mean, along with the inventory of each molinological structure and the analysis of the constructive system, the main purpose of this study is to demonstrate the value of this popular rural architecture in the mills of that parish. I present the evolution of the concept of heritage throughout the ages and do a reflection on the conservation interventions on this heritage as a way of preserve the identity and culture of a community, as well as, improve its development.
