Abstract(s)
The Class Director occupies an important position in the structures of coordination educational school, unfolding its involvement in a variety of functions. The post of Class Director is of particular relevance with regard to the monitoring of the educational process of young people attending Portuguese schools 2nd and 3rd cycle, as did the 1st cycle of basic education where the professor of the class is to same time, Class Director. The Group of Schools Souselo is set in a rural area where unemployment reaches very high levels, causing many adults to seek work in other countries. Students are generally left in the care of grandparents, some of which are very old and poorly educated, or in many cases, without which they cannot provide the desired tracking. Thus, it is the grouping of the need to give them a greater monitoring and involve students in the school, identify constraints and create ways to overcome or at least mitigate them. The project we propose to implement arose from the need to find more effective solutions to the problems we face. It is in this context that the inclusion of Group of Schools Souselo a Territory Educational Priority Intervention (TEIP), is constituted as a measure of educational policy to promote the educational success of all students and, in particular, children and young people who are at risk of social and educational exclusion. We made a first step, the internal evaluation of grouping with respect to academic success in the 2nd and 3rd cycle, by analyzing the success rate per year of schooling to all disciplines. Comparison with the same period of the previous school year and the comparative analysis of the results of internal and external evaluation was made, subject to the disciplines national examination in both cycles. We found that the internal review always shows more positive results. Thus, given the results obtained, we developed the project in order to contribute to improving student outcomes with a view to the educational success of the same.
