As distrofias neuromusculares são um conjunto de patologias com características clínicas e genéticas semelhantes, mas com sintomatologia e progressão variáveis. Estas, ocorrem devido a mutações genéticas, as quais irão determinar as suas características, severidade e longevidade do portador. Este trabalho foca a sua atenção em duas das variantes mais comuns, as distrofias musculares de Duchenne e de Becker, e os efeitos do exercício físico na sua evolução. Ao longo dos anos, vários têm sido os estudos realizados, procurando uma melhor compreensão desta patologia e de formas de melhorar a qualidade de vida dos indivíduos acometidos. Esta revisão irá focar os efeitos do exercício físico nas distrofias musculares de Duchenne e Becker.
Neuromuscular dystrophies are a number of conditions with similar clinical and genetic characteristics, but with variable symptoms and progression. These occur due to genetic mutations, which will determine their characteristics, severity and longevity of the carrier. This paper focuses its attention on two of the most common variants, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy, and the effects of exercise on their evolution. Over the years, several studies have been conducted, looking for a better understanding of this disease and ways to improve the quality of life of affected individuals. This review will focus on the effects of physical exercise in the Duchenn`s and Becker`s dystrophies.
