dc.description.abstract	Na presente dissertação de mestrado analisa-se a obra de Alcino Soutinho. A ênfase é dada às habitações unifamiliares construídas e projetadas pelo arquiteto, ao longo da sua vida profissional - desde 1963 a 2003. O objetivo do trabalho é procurar compreender a evolução do pensamento do arquiteto enquadrando o seu percurso no contexto político, social, cultural e o próprio meio que o rodeava. Para tal, optou-se por elaborar uma análise da vida e obra de Alcino Soutinho, acrescentando para além dos parâmetros mais frequentes que têm sido analisados sobre o arquiteto, aspetos sobre o lado pessoal conciliado com a sua identidade como arquiteto. Desde a fase de estudante na Escola de Belas Artes do Porto, viajante, participante, professor, arquiteto, designer e artista - Soutinho foi tudo isto. Neste trabalho é trazido esse lado, o lado para além da academia e da profissão - o lado pessoal, porque Soutinho, é indissociável disso. De seguida será feita a análise individual às treze habitações unifamiliares construídas e projetadas por Alcino Soutinho - desde a sua primeira Habitação Unifamiliar em Matosinhos de 1963, à última, em Afife, de 2003. Essa análise é efetuada com recurso a fichas individuais e entrevistas a proprietários. No seguimento do trabalho, existirá um capítulo, dedicado à análise particular de três casos de estudo que procuram ilustrar a teoria apresentada: Alcino Soutinho como arquiteto e homem terá vivido distintos momentos e as influências da vida pessoal em conjunto com o meio, ambiente social, político e económico terão repercussões na sua arquitetura, conseguindo-se, deste modo, identificar três períodos da arquitetura de Alcino Soutinho a partir das habitações unifamiliares. A Habitação Unifamiliar em Matosinhos (1963), Habitação Unifamiliar em Ofir (1984) e Habitação Unifamiliar em Afife (2003) são as habitações que ilustram as três fases da arquitetura de Alcino Soutinho. Nas conclusões destaca-se o enorme envolvimento do arquiteto com a sua obra, e a relação entre a arte de projetar espaços com qualidade e em simultâneo o seu interesse pelos métodos construtivos assumido na sua forma de fazer e pensar arquitetura, em três períodos temáticos distintos, mas com indicadores comuns.	pt_PT
dc.description.abstract	This master's dissertation analyzes the work of Alcino Soutinho. The emphasis is on single-family dwellings built and designed by the architect throughout his professional life - from 1963 to 2003. The aim of this text is to seek an understanding of the evolution of the architect's thinking by framing his career in the political, social, cultural and cultural context and everything that surrounded him. To this end, it was decided to elaborate an analysis of the life and work of Alcino Soutinho, adding in addition to the most frequent parameters that have been analyzed on the architect, aspects on the personal side reconciled with his identity as an architect. From the time of student at the School of Fine Arts of Porto, traveler, participant, teacher, architect, designer and artist - Soutinho was all this. This side brings this side, the side beyond the academy and the profession - the personal side, because Soutinho is inseparable from that. An individual analysis will be made of the thirteen single-family dwellings built and designed by Alcino Soutinho - from his first single-family dwelling in Matosinhos in 1963, and to his last one in Afife in 2003. This analysis is carried out using individual fact sheets and interviews with owners. Following the work, there will be a chapter, dedicated to the particular analysis of three case studies that seek to illustrate the presented theory: Alcino Soutinho as an architect and man will have lived different moments and the influences of his personal life together with the environment, social environment, political and economic will have repercussions on its architecture, thus managing to identify three periods of Alcino Soutinho's architecture from single-family dwellings. Single Family Housing in Matosinhos (1963), Single Family Housing in Ofir (1984) and Single Family Housing in Afife (2003) are the rooms that illustrate the three phases of Alcino Soutinho's architecture. The conclusions highlight the enormous involvement of the architect with his work, and the relationship between the art of designing spaces with quality and at the same time his interest in the constructive methods assumed in his way of doing and thinking architecture, in three distinct thematic periods. but with common indicators.	pt_PT
