Abstract(s)
Objective: To understand the differences between effects of treatment in land and in water after stroke and understand the role of hydrotherapy in patients after a stroke. Methodology: Computerized search in PEDro, EBSCO, B-on, Google Scholar, Pubmed and Scielo to identify randomized controlled trials to assess essentially the role of hydrotherapy in patients after a stroke. 5 Articles were included with an average score of 6.4 on a 10 possible in the PEDro scale. Results: In these studies participated in a total of 125 individuals. Two articles compare rehabilitation in land with rehabilitation in water while two articles compare the rehabilitation in land with rehabilitation in land and in water, at the same time, and only one article investigates the rehabilitation in water compared to the absence of rehabilitation. Conclusion: The hydrotherapy inhibits spasticity, promotes mobility, increases the balance and strength and enhances the gait ability and is an effective treatment when we want to rehabilitate a patient with stroke.
