| dc.description.abstract | Nos últimos anos, a administração de fármacos por via transdérmica tem sido uma área de pesquisa em foco na indústria farmacêutica. Com o intuito de superar algumas desvantagens inerentes às formas farmacêuticas convencionais, nomeadamente a estrutura organizada do estrato córneo que funciona como barreira à penetração de substâncias, surgem os adesivos transdérmicos. Neste tipo de formas farmacêuticas, a libertação dos fármacos pode ser ativada por diversos estímulos, sendo classificados, segundo a natureza do próprio estímulo, em sistemas de libertação ativados por estímulos físicos e químicos. Contudo, a utilização destes adesivos apresenta muitos prós e contras, estando ainda em estudo algumas combinações de técnicas. Este trabalho visa a apresentação pormenorizada dos adesivos transdérmicos ativados por estímulos físicos e químicos mais estudados. Drug delivery to and through the skin remains a challenging area for pharmaceutical scientists. In order to overcome some disadvantages related to the administration of conventional pharmaceutical forms, including the barrier of the stratum corneum organized structure, emerged the transdermal systems. In these systems, the drug release can be activated by different stimulus, being classified according to the nature of the stimulus itself, into delivery systems activated by physical and chemical stimuli. However, such systems exhibit many pros and cons, therefore some combinations of techniques are being studied.
