Abstract(s)
Globally, the expression of oral cancer has affected more and more patients. Internationally, it figures as a set of malignant neoplasms with development in the oral cavity, the most prevalent is the squamous cell carcinoma. With the learning, improvement and effectiveness of the osseointegrative process, oral implants have become a precious gain in the field of evolution and maintenance of oral cancer rehabilitation. This bibliographical review intends to debate the determinant aspects of implantology priority effectiveness, as well as its failure. Thus, throughout this writing, it will be concluded, in more detail, as result of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, surgeries, anatomical location and adequate time for placement, biocompatibility of materials, prosthetic rehabilitation or factors related to the individual vulnerability of each patient and that induce the osseointegrative process. In most cases, the successful osseointegration of endosseous implants in oral cancer patients demonstrates that it remains the best option, since the causality of failures does not mean that these patients will not be rehabilitated.
