Abstract(s)
Objectivo: Averiguar o efeito do treino de equilíbrio (TE) em pacientes com esclerose múltipla (EM). Metodologia: As pesquisas foram feitas através das bases de dados PubMed, PEDro e ScienceDirect para identificar os estudos randomizados controlados que avaliam a eficácia dos efeitos do TE na EM. Resultados: Nesta revisão foram incluídos 7 artigos envolvendo 521 pacientes, com classificação metodológica média de 6,42 em 10 na escala de Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), dos quais 1 compara o TE por realidade virtual ao tratamento de fisioterapia, 1 compara o tratamento fisioterapêutico com o uso do Standing-Frame versus só tratamento fisioterapêutico, 2 verificam a eficácia do trabalho de estabilidade de CORE e de equilibrio comparado com tratamento fisioterapêutico sobre a marcha, 1 compara uma combinação de exercicios terapêuticos ao tratamento convencional de fisioterapia, 2 avaliam a eficácia dos exercicios de equilibrio sobre as quedas. Os estudos com recurso ao TE, tiveram impacto positivo no controlo do movimento, função e postura, marcha, qualidade de vida, diminuição do risco de quedas. Conclusão: os estudos incluídos nesta revisão sugerem que o TE pode ser um método eficaz, mas deve ser o mais direcionado e específico para os diferentes tipos de EM. Sugere-se mais estudos sobre esta modalidade para provar a sua eficácia.

Methodology: Research was conducted using the PubMed, PEDro and ScienceDirect databases to identify randomised controlled trials that assess the efficacy of ET effects on MS. Results: This review included 7 articles involving 521 patients, with a mean methodological classification of 6.42 out of 10 on the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale, of which 1 compares virtual reality with BT to physiotherapy treatment (PT), 1 other study compares PT with the use of Standing-Frame versus PT, 2 check the effectiveness of CORE stability and BT work compared to PT on walking, 1 compare a combination of therapeutic exercises to PT, 2 evaluate the effectiveness of BT on falls. The studies using ET, was described that has a positive impact on movement control, postural control, functionality, gait, quality of life, decrease of fall risk. Conclusion: The studies included in this review suggest that ET may be an effective method, but should be the most targeted and specific for the different types of MS. Further studies on this modality are suggested to prove its effectiveness.
