Abstract(s)
There are several studies which correlate positively the pattern of insecure attachment with delinquent conducts. Other researches also point to the fact that individuals associated with deviant peers can be lead to situations of victimization. The present study examines the possible presence, more or less significant, of situations of victimization experienced by delinquent individuals and seeks to access the memories of primary attachment of these individuals. Specifically, it is intended to define the possible existence of victimization’s pattern in these subjects; to understand the possible pattern of crime committed by this population; realize the predominant primary attachment pattern present in the sample. The study presents an exploratory, descriptive, transversal, observational and self - reporting design. The data collection is of qualitative and quantitative nature with an inter-method triangulation. The results obtained in a sample of 14 individuals with a history of delinquent conduct, 57.1% female and 22.8 years old (SD = 5.3), confirms the existence of offender-victim overlap (57 ,1%). The most serious crimes were of conjugal violence (62.5%) and physical aggression (62.5%), and they point to the proximity between the victim and the offender, since he was known to the victim (87.5%). A significant proportion (50.0%) also reported that this phenomenon was related to the delinquent environment, sustaining the link between victimization experiences and deviant lifestyle. The most common criminal acts were theft (50.0%) and physical aggression (50.0%). Finally, there is a predominance of secure primary attachment pattern.
