Abstract(s)
Tennis is a sport that requires execution speed, movement quality, and dynamic balance to achieve correct performance and minimize the risk of injury. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the application of a program of exercises on tennis practitioners, its effects on the range of motion for the shoulder external rotation, internal rotation, and flexion, relating the results with age, weight, training frequency, injury occurrence or existence of previous injury, as well as other attributes. Methods: In this study, a questionnaire and a 6-week exercise program were applied to 5 practitioners of the Espinho Tennis Academy, with the evaluation of the range of motion in the Kinovea program using photographic images captured with a camera. Results: The results show that there was a statistically significant increase in the shoulder flexion range of motion (p=0.042). Conclusion: The application of an exercise program on tennis practitioners had a positive effect on increasing the range of motion of the shoulder flexion movement, performance increase, and injury-free results resulting from the study.
