subacromial do ombro.
Objective: The present review intends to determine the effectiveness of manual therapy in the treatment of patients with subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS). Methods: A literature review was conducted from January to February 2017 in the Pubmed/Medline, PEDro, Scielo and Lilacs databases to identify randomized controlled trials evaluating the effects of application of manual therapy on SIS treatment. Results: Six articles were included, with a total of 402 patients, published between 2000 and 2016. Obtaining an arithmetic average of 7 on the PEDro scale. All the six studies mentioned in this review are about manual therapy. Conclusion: The scientific evidence found in this review suggests that the intervention of manual therapy should be weighed; at an early stage of pathology plays an important role in the treatment of SCS. Further research on manual therapy associated with SCS is recommended.
