dc.description.abstract	O objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar a prevalência da posição do zenith gengival dos 6 dentes anteriores, a altura do sorriso, a posição da margem gengival superior e a satisfação dos participantes com o seu sorriso. A população é constituída por pacientes universitários frequentadores das Clínicas Pedagógicas em Medicina Dentária - Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa (FCS-UFP), tendo sido efetuado scanner intraoral e fotografias digitais. As fotografias foram realizadas com o rosto alinhado mantendo a linha bipupilar paralela ao plano horizontal, de modo que o contorno facial não seja distorcido. Já no scanner intraoral foram obtidas imagens em ficheiro STL, os quais através de software Adobe Photoshop e Exocad foram realizadas medições dos dentes de forma a averiguar posição do zenith gengival, altura do sorriso e posição da margem gengival superior. O estudo envolveu 139 participantes, sendo 52 são homens (37,4%) e 87 são mulheres (62,6%). Relativamente à nacionalidade, observou-se 57 participantes portugueses (41%), 51 italianos (36,7%), 26 franceses (18,7%) e 5 correspondem a outras nacionalidades (3,6%). A análise do zenith gengival revelou que a posição mais prevalente é central com 72%, seguindo-se da posição distal com 26,7% e posição mesial 1,2%. A posição da margem gengival superior mais comum foi situações diferentes entre os dois hemiarcadas. Quanto à altura do sorriso, o sorriso alto e médio foram os mais prevalentes com 48,2% e 45,3% dos participantes respetivamente. Podemos concluir que a posição do zenith mais prevalente foi a central; relativamente à posição da margem, os participantes apresentaram maioritariamente situações diferentes entre os dois hemiarcadas; e que a altura do sorriso mais prevalente é o sorriso alto.	por
dc.description.abstract	The objective of the present study is to evaluate the prevalence of the position of the gingival zenith of the 6 anterior teeth, the height of the smile, the position of the upper gingival margin and the participants' satisfaction with their smile. The population is from university patients attending Pedagogical Clinics in Dental Medicine – Faculty of Health Sciences of the Fernando Pessoa University (FCS-UFP), using digital photographs and an intraoral scanner. The photographs were taken with the face aligned, keeping the bipupillary line parallel to the horizontal plane, so that the facial contour is not distorted. With the images obtained through the intraoral scanner, STL files were created, which, using Adobe Photoshop and Exocad software, measurements were taken of the teeth in order to ascertain the position of the gingival zenith, smile height and position of the upper gingival margin. The study involved 139 participants, 52 were men (37.4%) and 87 were women (62.6%). Regarding nationality, there were 57 Portuguese participants (41%), 51 Italians (36.7%), 26 French (18.7%) and 5 corresponded to other nationalities (3.6%). Analysis of the gingival zenith revealed that the most prevalent position is central with 72%, followed by the distal position with 26.7% and the mesial position with 1.2%. The most common position of the upper gingival margin differed between the two hemiarches. Regarding smile height, high and medium smiles were more prevalent with 48.2% and 45.3% of participants respectively. We can conclude that the most prevalent zenith position was the central one; regarding the margin position, most participants presented different situations between the two hemiarches; and the most prevalent smile height is high.	eng
