Abstract(s)
Este trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar la temática de la traición presente en dos novelas
chilenas de la postdictadura: El palacio de la risa (1995) de Germán Marín y La vida
doble (2010) de Arturo Fontaine. En ellas veremos cómo se va configurando una trama
desde o en diálogo con voces femeninas fantasmales y fragmentadas por la traición. Por
otra parte, la escritura literaria logra abordar otras temáticas, posibilitando con ello la
reconstrucción y reflexión respecto al pasado reciente de nuestro país. En este sentido,
observamos la capacidad del discurso literario para dialogar con otros discursos posibilitando
con ello el surgimiento de memorias silenciadas por la historia oficial, tales como
la experiencia concentracionaria de los centros secretos de la dictadura, espacios creados
para ordenar y castigar mediante la deshumanización con brutales y sistemáticos métodos
de tortura. Así, los detenidos no solo experimentan la derrota y la tortura, sino que
también, algunos de ellos terminan por enfrentarse al hecho de la traición y delación de
sus compañeros.
This paper aims to analize the topic of treason in two post dictatorial Chilean novels: Germán Marín’s El palacio de la risa (1995) and Arturo Fontaine’s La vida doble (2010). In these two novels we observe a plot organized from and within a dialogue held by female voices that treason fragments and transforms into ghosts. Furthermore, these works are able to address several topics from the specific discourse of literature, enabling the reconstruction and reflection on the recent past in the country. In this sense, literature has the ability to dialogue and engage with other discourses, allowing the emergence of silenced memories due to the predominance of an official history. Such is the case of the illegal imprisonment (in concentration facilities) brought about by the secret police of the dictatorship, places created to establish order and to punish and dehumanize with brutal and sistematic methods of torture. Detainees, consequently, not only experienced defeat and torture, but some of them also end up facing treason and their comrades’ denounciation.
