Abstract(s)
Introdução: A realização constante de actividade desportiva pode levar a ocorrência de lesões. A natação é um desporto onde a ocorrência de lesões é muito comum tendo em conta a sobrecarga a que os nadadores estão sujeitos. Objetivo: Rever e sumariar a literatura existente acerca da prevalência de lesões em nadadores, bem como verificar qual a influência do género enquanto fator de risco. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados Pubmed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, MEDLINE e a Academic Search Complete. Foram incluídos 26 estudos que demonstram que tipos de lesões são mais comuns e qual a prevalência deste tipo de lesões. Resultado: Foram encontrados 239 artigos, sendo que desses apenas 26 foram utilizados. Conclusão: A prevalência de lesões nos nadadores é muito elevada sendo a lesão no ombro a mais referida seguida de lesões nas costas e joelhos, destas lesões as mais comuns no género masculino são lesões causadas de forma traumática, enquanto no género feminino é mais frequente lesões por uso excessivo.

Swimming is a sport where the occurrence of injuries is very common due to the overload that swimmers are subjected to. Objective: Review and summarize the existing literature on the prevalence of injuries in swimmers, as well as verify the influence of gender as a risk factor. Methodology: A bibliographic search was carried out in Pubmed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, MEDLINE and Academic Search Complete databases. Twenty-six studies were included, demonstrating which types of injuries are most common and the prevalence of these types of injuries. Result: 239 articles were found, of which only 26 were used. Conclusion: The prevalence of injuries in swimmers is very high, with the shoulder injury being the most mentioned, followed by injuries to the back and knees, of these injuries the most common in males are injuries caused by trauma, while in females, injuries due to overuse.
