Abstract(s)
Objetivo: o objetivo deste estudo é analisar respostas eletromiográficas dos músculos da coxa expostos a diferentes frequências vibratórias para verificar a hipótese de diferentes frequências vibratórias determinarem diferentes respostas neuromusculares. Metodologia: oito participantes do sexo masculino foram expostos à vibração usando uma plataforma vibratória síncrona sendo expostos aleatoriamente a duas vibrações (25Hz e 50Hz) e a um procedimento de controlo, sem recurso à vibração. A amplitude usada foi de 5mm. Resultados: nos músculos STD e STND há um aumento da contração muscular na exposição à vibração à medida que a frequência aumenta. No músculo BFD a mais alta atividade muscular foi registada nos 25Hz. Não se verificaram quaisquer influências estatisticamente significativas da vibração na atividade muscular dos músculos VMD, VMND, VLD, VLND e BFND. Conclusão: a exposição à vibração não tem influência na atividade muscular de todos os músculos. Porém quando esta influencia a atividade muscular de algum músculo, apenas a aumenta e nunca a diminui.

Methods: Eight male participants were exposed to vibration using a synchronous vibration platform being randomly exposed to two vibrations (25Hz and 50Hz) and a control procedure, without recourse to vibration. The amplitude of 5mm was used. Results: STD muscles and STND there is an increase in muscle contraction vibration exposure as the frequency increases. In muscle BFD highest muscle activity was recorded in 25Hz. There were no statistically significant influences of vibration on muscle activity of the muscles VMD, VMND, VLD, and VLND BFND. Conclusion: Exposure to vibration has no influence on muscle activity of all muscles. But when it influences muscle activity in some muscle, only increases in and never decreases.
